World’s Most Expensive Champage Up
Forget the Cristal. Shelve the Dom P. Instead, stock your fridge with the world’s most expensive champagne: a special edition Perrier-Jouet selling for $6,576 a bottle. Starting this Thursday, March 20, 100 12-bottle box sets will go on sale, priced at about $78,844 each. Each buyer will come to Epernay (in eastern France) for a one-on-one meeting with Perrier-Jouet cellar master Herve Deschamps and will personally add a liqueur to give their champagne a unique taste. Owners will then be allowed to store their new purchase in Perrier-Jouet’s “storage nest” for the coming eight months. According to the company, the champagne will be made available to an elite group of “super-rich” consumers in the U.S., U.K., Japan, China, Russia, Switzerland and France.
