Las Vegas is the largest city in the U.S. state of Nevada. Las Vegas is located in the southern state, in Clark County, which the city is situated.
The city itself has 545,147 inhabitants, and Las Vegas metropolitan area has about 1.9 million inhabitants and was the 28th most populous county in the United States in the 2000 census.
 Las Vegas was founded in 1905, but if officially became a city in 1911.
Las Vegas is famous for its casinos. In Las Vegas Boulevard, better known as the Las Vegas  Strip, are the most imposing casinos of the world as the Bellagio, Caesars Palace, Excalibur, Luxor, Mandalay Bay, MGM Grand, Monte Carlo, New York, New York, Paris, Stratosphere, Venetian , Treasure Island, among many others.
